I must say, even though I had a fabulous time here with all my relatives and everything, it'll be kinda nice to be back home. I missed hanging out with people my age, especially since Dave and Stu left. But I really did have so much fun. I don't get to see my Ontario relatives enough. It makes me sad that I'm not very close with my cousins, but the fault is with the distance. I have Lindsay's e-mail, though, and hopefully I'll be a better correspondant than before. Me and Antonia are going to start writing to each other, too. That'll be interesting: my new pen-pal is a seven-year-old. She's so cute, though, and so is Philip. I love my little cousins.
I have to mention my 'Santa' present this year, cause it's something I've wanted since I can remember: a digital camera! I was so happy, I ran right into Mom and Dad and gave them big hugs, all the while going "thankyouthankyouthankyou!" I was soo excited. I also got:
-lots of nice clothes
-four watches from Aunt Pat
-'Chicago'
-two scarfs (one from Stu that he knitted himself!)
-the nicest bracelet from Grandma
-some cd's
And a whole bunch more that I can't even think of at the moment.
I have to go pack now. May the joy of Christmas have touched you and blessed you in as many ways possible! Toodles.

Snow day!

One of the best feelings in the world is to wake up and realize school's cancelled and you have the whole day to study for two tests you have the next day.
Of course then because everything's going so well, something in your house obviously has to make your allergies act up so you spend the whole day sniffling and without energy to do anything other than sit around and study.
Cynically yours,
P.

Sartre est stuuupiiide!

[mood: cozy]
[music: Something - Beatles]

Two posts in three days! A new record!
I finished my research paper last night. Frigging stupid. I wish I'd started it earlier, cause then i wouldn't have been up until 11:30 trying to get it done. I never learn from my mistakes; I'm still the worst when it comes to procrastinating. Now I'm trying to get this summary done for tomorrow on existentialism, which to me seems v. stupid, probably because the websites i'm looking at aren't explaining it well at all.
"We can't really define existentialism because there are so many views on the subject ... so, uh, here's a million-word long biography of this guy who didn't found it or anything, but he's responsible for it being so popular. We aren't going to explain how he made it popular or anything, we're just going to talk about his childhood for a bloody long time." Argh!
Anyway, whatever. But I got through them, and now this semester is half over. Only a couple more months until 1) my birthday and 2) my easy semester. Oh, and one month from today, Christmas spirit will have seized us all (except maybe Mr. Coady, because he's just not a very jolly person). Anyway, here are my exam marks:
French 98%
English 90.5%
Chemistry 83%
Math 80%

So happy with Chemistry! I worked my ass off for that exam, and an 83 is pretty dang good for Mr. T. I'm hoping against hope to get my final mark up into the high 80's in Chem, so wish me luck on that one.
I just typed out my research paper for English. It's nowhere near done; I haven't really gone over my rough copy, so it's horribly mangled and fragmented. I just wanted to see how long it was so far, and to my shock, I have 742 words. And that's without my conclusion, cause I haven't written that out yet. I have to fix it up tomorrow night and make sure I'm actually being persuasive, but I'm pretty happy right now.

I hate school

I can't believe it's been almost a month since I last posted. What a magnificent sunset.
I love that it's October, 22 degrees, and that I just went for a walk in my sandals listening to my favorite walking music, Jimmy Eat World. Don't ask me why it's my favorite, cause I couldn't tell ya, but anyways...Can anyone picture me skipping and dancing down the road, belting out the words to "Sweetness" and dragging my dog along with me? Don't worry, he did his share of dragging me places, including almost into a ditch.
We ventured into a field right before we got home, and it was so beautiful. You have a great view of the highway from there. I know that doesn't sound particularly beautiful, but you're not picturing the distant farms and houses, the woods, the clover in the field, bathed in the glow of the sun...
On a night like this, it doesn't matter that I have a math test (oh, sorry, 'quiz') tomorrow, or that my french homework needs to be done. I can never resist the lure of a peaceful, solitary walk on a night like this. And I just had to document it, for some reason. This weather will surely not last long.

we fight for what we are

[mood: a little frustrated]
[music: One Thousand Pieces - Shift D]

I really enjoyed the show last night. I'll keep searching though, what else can I do?
Lata.

It's raining

[music: Your House - Jimmy Eat World]

When you're on
I swear you're on
You rip my heart right out
I think the whole room
Can hear my clear my throat
You rip my heart right out

If you still care at all
Don't go, tell me now
If you love me at all
Please don't, tell me now
If you love me at all
Don't call

We know what happens
When we get to your house
You rip my heart right out
You're winning me over
With everything you say
You rip my heart right out
When I let you closer
I only want you closer
You rip my heart right out

I throw away everything I've written you
Anything, just keep my mind off it
Thinking how I had you once
No, I can't forget that
Sometimes I wish I could lose you again

my last first day

[mood: ugh]
[music: You've Got A Friend - Carole King]

Okay, so here's the lowdown:
My bus is coming fifteen minutes earlier in the morning, meaning I have to get up earlier. Also, our bus ride is twenty minutes longer in the morning. And if today was any indication, the bus ride in the afternoon is now fifty minutes. And our bus is crowded. More crowded than before, I should say.
This semester, I have Chemistry, French, English, and Math.
Chemistry, I think will be fine. Mr. T is funny, and I've heard that he's a really good teacher. Plus, he said himself that he's not a hard marker, so hopefully, he's telling the truth...(fingers crossed!)
English, I'm not worried about either, because I've got some great people in my class, and Ms. N seems really nice.
And Math, I have Mr. C again, which makes me really happy.
French is going to suck. Hardcore.
There are going to be lots of presentations, which I hate, especially in french (because i'm always worried about my prononciation), and he's really strict about the whole talking french thing (which isn't a bad thing, since we are supposed to be in french immersion, but I'm just so out of practice with speaking french, it's going to be hard to get back into it). I'm not really sure what kind of teacher he is yet, like if he's one that I will be able to follow. I hope he's a good teacher, because I have him next semester, too, for Sociology.
But the good things, I can't forget the good things:
I got to see everybody that I haven't seen all summer, which is always really nice.
I got to slide around in my shoes on the newly waxed floors (fun!)
I got a blue locker, right across the hall from Rachel and Kayla, and really close to Sherry, Adam and Josh.
Three words: Chicken fried rice.

One week later, I think I'm allergic to my house.

More random and useless facts about me

[mood: allergic, therefore not happy camper]
[music: Get Up - Doc Walker]

-I always seem to write in my blog whenever I'm sick, today is no exception. I also seem to write about random things during these times.
-I love Doc Walker!!! They are sooo yummy......mmm
-They signed my cd, and I got a picture autographed, and we got a picture taken with Chris, the lead singer, and he's so dreamy :)
-I just learned "Eleanor Rigby" on the piano
-My favorite foods are ice cream and chocolate, yet I dislike chocolate ice cream
-I've just discovered that the best way to keep my feet warm when I'm here, in the basement, is to wear slippers
-I've become very lazy this summer
-I'm the worst packrat ever. Today, trying to keep my mind off my allergies, I looked through this huge envelope in which I've kept every card (Christmas, birthday, whatever) since I was about eight. I ended up throwing out about half of them, which is pretty good for me. It sent me on such a memory trip, which was fun.
-I become very quiet when I feel vulnerable (like when I meet new people - I'm still shy at heart)
-My favorite words at the moment are "ironical" and "fantastical." My brother told me not to say ironical, because it's so grammatically incorrect or whatever, but fantastical is ok. Go figure.
-I want Abby to call me. I miss her. :(
-I saw a squirrel yawn the other day. No kidding, it was one of the cutest things ever!
-I'm addicted to Big Brother.
-I want school to start, but I'm scared to death of being in my last year of high school.
-I don't understand why anyone would want to get their bellybutton pierced. Seriously, what's the fascination?
-I want to learn how to beatbox
-I used to be able to write poetry and stories all the time, and now I can't churn out a word. I feel like I peaked at fourteen, which is alsothe year my English teacher told me I could get my stories published.
-That really saddens me.
-I felt really close to a friend for most of this year, until about May, when I felt like she tried to shut me (and a couple other of our friends) out of her life.
-That also really saddens me.
-I still feel really insecure that people think I'm dull or stupid when I can't think of anything to say, sometimes because of the aforementioned shyness.
-I'm going to miss Rainbow Valley next year.
-I want to go cd shopping almost as much as clothes shopping (back-to-school shopping, the best part about back to school!)
-I'm really bad with cellphones.
-Hand sanitizer fascinates me (and Erika:)
Man, I wish I had some hand sanitizer right now, I feel so gross. I listen to it, and then return it next time I'm back and take a new one. So far I've listened to Cake, The Dandy Warhols, The Flaming Lips, and Aimee Mann. I must say, my bro has pretty good taste in music. The Flaming Lips cd (Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots) was by far my favorite; I loved it so much that I'm going to buy it for myself. I really like Aimee Mann too; her voice is so--hard to describe. It's beautiful. I'm lucky my mom has this thing with fixing up his apartment while he's away, really, because when else would I get to stop by and filch his music?
On Monday, the last time we were there, we put up curtains in his kitchen and put up a paper towel holder over his sink, and my parents moved the fridge. Turned the fridge, actually, because there's nowhere to move it in his miniscule kitchen. But turning it meant that one no longer has to step over the cord to actually get in front of the fridge to open it. It's a lot safer now, I think.
I kind of wonder if my brother appreciates all my mom is doing for him with his apartment. She's done A LOT, and she's gotten me and Dad to help out quite a bit, too. But when he came home for the weekend a couple of weeks ago, he left piles of clothes all over the floor, and he didn't sort any of his garbage. Let's just say that my brother is a bit disorganized; my mom found a laundry hamper for him and put it in his bedroom when she moved everything around in there so it was more accessible. She also took the trouble of finding garbage cans for him, and finding bags of both the compost and waste variety, and setting up everything for him. All he had to do was put everything in the (to quote the school administration) "proper recepticle." Anyway, so coming in to the apartment a few days after brother dear left again, me and Mom encountered these clothes, and garbage, and other mess, and Mom got royally pissed. I think she was mostly hurt, because to her, it felt like he was completely ignoring everything we've done. So she didn't take any of his laundry home, like she usually does. She didn't pick it up or anything, she just left it on the floor. It was a nice touch, I must say.
I do love my mom. She has spunk.

licensed and insured

[mood: nonsensical]
[music: rien de tout!]

Oh, mon français est horrible; j'ai besoin de le pratiquer...
Oh well. I can listen to french talk radio whilst I drive around in a car ALONE! I can do that now! I got my insurance today, so tonight I'm driving to work myself, and then I'm driving myself home. Oh, the excitement! It will almost, but not really, make up for the fact that I'm missing out on Shipwright's AGAIN! Grr. Mom promised to bring me back some dessert, but that's small comfort to the fact that I can't go and eat with everyone. Poor, poor, pitiful me.
I really miss people. I want to go to the beach. I want to go to the movies. I want to figure out what I want to do with my life... Whoa.
That was sudden. I just kinda typed that without even thinking.
It's true, though. I wish I knew where I'm going in my life. Although, I have been thinking about it lately and I have narrowed down my university choices to two. And I'm seriously considering psychology, and then becoming either a counselor or social worker. I need to think about it some more, but it feels good to know that i've actually made up my mind - somewhat.
So with cautious optimism, I leave you now. If anyone is reading this and wants to do something, give me a call. I can drive now! Oh, and I'm really excited because we have two squirrels around our house because we just put up a birdfeeder, and they're sooo cute! I'm going to name them.
Let's see, what else has been going on lately...
I'm going in for my driving test on Wednesday. Khee! Except not really, because on Saturday, I spent about $70 at the MCB. Oh well, it was worth it.
And that's about it, I guess.
Happy birthday, Trina!

italian leather sofa

[mood: meh]
[music: I Will Survive - Cake]

So I got my report card today.
Sarcastic yay for me: I went down 10 marks in English, thanks to my stupid essay that I knew I did bad on before I even got it back. Oh, and my oral presentation. I hate oral presentations.
But real yay for me: I went up 5 marks in Law, making a 90.
I'm not super happy with my marks, mostly English and Gym. And music, for that matter because I only got a 90, but our band teacher this year marked harder, so she would have considered 90 to be a high mark. So I guess I should take that as a "good job!"
I shouldn't even be complaining about my high-80s and low-90s marks. It's funny; in one way I am such an overachiever, and yet in another way, I so don't care. I procrastinate over assignments all the time. I really need to get out of that habit!!
Anyway, in other news, I am starting work tomorrow. Table-cleaning, yes!!! I'm hoping not to get put on dishwashing much, but I probably will, because almost all the table cleaners dishwash every now and then. But the important thing is that I'm table-cleaning on Friday, which means I can go to the fireworks because I'll be off at eight! Hurray! Even if I'll smell like lobster! Everyone will just have to ignore that!
<img width='1' height='1' I don't even want to go into it because it will probably not convey my fed-up emotions, but I am just so sick of people expecting me and Lin to clean up THEIR crap after we have something to eat, or of people playing away at their instruments (won't say who this is because I don't want to betray their identities, but really, who the fuck cares?) when we're TRYING to work on a song TOGETHER. Oh, and of people looking at and talking to me like I'M the f-ing retard when I ask them what they were doing in the basement for fifteen minutes while the rest of us were upstairs TRYING to work on a song without them. They were "tuning." Really, they were doing shit-all and sitting on their asses and probably talking about the rest of us behind our backs. It pisses me off. I just read that and it sounds like they were making out or something in the basement. They weren't. It's two guys.
I have a chemistry test first period tomorrow. It's one of the only nights the artsy kids get to shine. It just feels so good to listen to talented people do things you never would otherwise see them do. Tonight I got to listen to poems that touched me, music that made me laugh and think, and a speech that made me reflect. I want to make my mark on the Blue. The only way I can do that is with the arts, since I have no athletic ability and won't break any academic records, despite wishing I could. So next year, I want to dedicate more time to drama; I really want to have a bigger part in it. And I'm learning the guitar over the summer; I've just decided that. I'll get my dad to teach me. I've wanted to learn for so long now, and I think this summer is the perfect time. I just don't know how else to make my mark on our school. I wish I could learn to be a better writer. Maybe I'll drop biology or something next year and take writing...who knows? The possibilities are endless, or so I'd like to think.

I wonder if there's a french way to say GRRRR...

[mood: frustrated]

Just finished my law project.
I hate my computer. I did try to, yesterday, but since blogger was down for maintenance, that didn't happen. I just went to the beach with Abby, Adam, and Jacob. It was so much fun; I hadn't been to the beach since September, maybe. I love the beach soo much; I just feel so free there. I must be pretty reserved normally, because when I skipped a rock (twice!) I jumped up and down and cheered and Adam said "That's the most excited I think I've ever seen you." From now on, I will be a free spirit! Let's see how long that lasts.
Band trip last week was soooo much fun. I love band trips, and I love girl-talking with guys and girls both, and I love walking tours (I find them so interesting, I know that makes me a geek), and I just love getting dressed up, even if I did almost fall asleep at the symphony. I love my friends, because I can laugh about the stupidest stuff with them, and I love our inside jokes (only real men...). The HRC was really cool, too, there was a lot of Beatles stuff there.
The only thing I hated was thinking about a certain someone, and not being able to get him off my mind, but we didn't hang out, like, at all, which really sucked.

EW!!

[mood: nostalgic]
[music: mixy mixy]

Been thinking 'bout junior high today. I started looking through my grade nine yearbook while I was waiting for my toenails to dry. It was so funny to look at because we all look pretty much the same, just younger. And right now I am listening to a mix my cousin's boyfriend made for me the summer going into grade nine, when I stayed with her for a week. I'm embarrassed to tell you half the songs that are one this cd, but I remember liking them all (except for "Hero" from the Spiderman soundtrack. What was I thinking???)
It's weird, but even though I laughed and remembered good times, I have no desire AT ALL to ever go back to my junior high days. Especially grade seven and eight. I have bad memories, both of stuff that other people said or did to me, and stuff that, to myself, I probably made seem bigger than it actually was. I was an insecure little child.
But I remember happy times, lots of them. Like getting ready for the dances!!! And our insane phone conversations, Beth, remember those? They only happened if you called me, though, because I always seemed to call you at the worst times.
Anyway, conclusion: junior high for me was very mixed up and I'm happier now. Most of the time. :)

things you probably never needed to know about me

[mood: disgruntled]
[music: Cautioners - Jimmy Eat World]

I'm sick and was at home today, and I don't want to complain about it, and I don't really have much to say, so here are some random tidbits about me:
-I like tea. I really had a good time in Montreal and Kingston. Nothing too exciting, it was just nice. Like, hanging with my grandparents and seeing my other relatives, like my little six year old cousin, it's just really nice. I love my family so much, and I don't get to see them that much, so even just going to a movie with my grandma and my dad was fun for me.
Right now, I'm just sitting here, singing along with Avril LaVigne, and wishing I was really good at singing, just because it's so fun. I don't know if I'd actually want to sing for a living, I just enjoy it a lot. A girl in my school is competing to become Maritime Idol and go on to Canadian Idol, I guess that's why I'm thinking about it. I hope she does good, she deserves to. I don't even know her, I just think she's really talented.
Not much to say, really, except I got an epi-pen last night. Yee freaking hah. It's not really a big deal; it's just the first time i've had an epi-pen, even though i've been allergic ever since i was a little kid. After mom brought it home, i took it to my room, and quietly freaked out. I couldn't even touch it for like twenty minutes. It just gives me the willies, thinking about sticking it in my thigh. I don't like needles. Anyway, so I was crying and kind of freaking out for no reason, really, other than that I now carry a needle around in my purse. Ahahahaha.... No, after I calmed down, I took it out (the needle part is covered and it's in a tube, btw) and looked at it, and read the information leaflet, and stuff, and it's really not scary at all. I don't know what's wrong with me sometimes. Oy.

break has begun

[mood: bleh]
[music: 'Corrie', from upstairs]

March break has begun. Tomorrow I leave for Montreal and Kingston; I should get back next Friday or Saturday. I'm kind of excited, but not especially. I think I'll save that for when the 12-hour drive is over, and I'm actually there. Plus, it's just going to be me and Dad... at least if Mom was coming, there would be a guarantee of interesting conversation at some point or another. Oh well. I'm going to look around Montreal in preparation for the BAND TRIP!!! in May, which I'm already super-excited for. Maybe I can find some nice stores downtown or something...
Yesterday me and Kayla went to Sears for its grand opening. Yippee. It was crowded, and there wasn't a whole lot that made me wish I had a thousand bucks so I could blow it on Sears stuff. There was a really cool purse I might go back and get sometime though. I saw Aaron there, with his water display. It was really funny, cause he was wearing a really nice suit, and was standing by a water cooler.
For all y'all who are in Italy right now: stay safe, have tons of fun, and take pictures!!!!! As many as you possibly can! Lately, for no reason at all, I just get into these moods. It's like being in a pit of darkness, with my voice swallowed up so I can't scream. That sounds so melodramatic. It's probably just teenage crap or whatever, but it still sucks. Sometimes, nothing makes me feel better, except going to sleep.
I especially hate it because I have no reason to feel depressed. None at all. Like, nothing's going wrong with me. Tonight, I was at dinner with my family to celebrate Dave's b-day which was yesterday. And it's not like anything happened, except that Stu's going back tomorrow when he just got here on Sunday. I barely had a chance to talk to him, it feels like. And I don't see Dave that much anymore now that he lives downtown, and is training. I just miss them. It's lonely being the only kid.
And also, on Saturday, I lost the ring my grandma sent me for my birthday. I left it on the sink at DQ, and by the time I realized that, five mins. later, someone had taken it. I was so super-pissed at myself.
Anyway, enough emo-ness for now. Hopefully next time, I'll be more chipper.

Happy G-Day (yesterday)

[mood: cold-y]
[music: soundtrack to 'Kill Bill Vol. 1']

Happy birthday to me (yesterday)
happy birthday to me (yesterday)
happy biiirthday deeear Paaaaatttyyyy
happy birthday to me (yesterday)

Yes, so I am now seventeen. How momentous. Truth be told, I really don't feel any different, just like last year when I turned 16, another "milestone." I really don't get why sixteen is so big. A hundred and sixteen, I can see being cause for a big celebration, but sixteen? I guess years ago, that was becoming an adult. Nowadays, people seem to mature a leetle slower. Take the guy on Dr. Phil today, for example. Telling his wife he wants to work on their marriage, then carrying on with his pregnant mistress, what an ass.
Anyway, so seventeen....yeah, I have a cold. That's always fun. And I'm kind of tired, so that's why I'm rambling randomly. Uuuummmm, yeah, my exam went okay. Except for the fact that there was an ESSAY!!! Mr. Wood's essays and "short-answer" questions (2 of them were more than a pg. long) are kind of killer. But I think I did ok, so that's good. And I'm now done of math, so yay!
Anyway, I think I might go to bed now, or something.
Love to you all, Patty

hello, cabin fever

[mood: amused]
[music: Spice Girls]

I haven't listened to the Spice Girls since the fifth or sixth grade, whenever they were popular. The BOTB went really well, I think. I'm not actually sure how much money was raised, because i missed the SADD meeting yesterday (oops) but I think we did alright.
The funniest part was going to Wendy's. Katrina went home, got her car, picked Kayla up, came to school, got me Katie and Amanda, and we went to Wendys to pick up food not only for us, but for everyone else staying after to help out. We didn't realize just how much food that was; like about twenty-some orders. We went into Wendy's first because it was supposedly before the rush hour, but only one cash was open, so Kayla and Amanda are ordering, like, ten orders each, and a line was forming. Luckily, no one yelled at us or anything. But the line got so long that me and Katie decided to get our orders through the drive-thru. I had two orders, and Katie just had one, so that didn't take long. What took long was finding a way to fit all the food and drinks into the car around us. We all -except Katrina obviously- had a tray of drinks on our lap, trying desperately to keep them from spilling.
When we got to the highway, there was a police search going on, and Katrina freaked because she's only supposed to have 3 ppl in the car with her, so she pulled into a parking lot and we went back to school by the back roads. The funny thing was that by going by the back roads, we got stuck behind not one, but two tractors, one of which was doing some crazy driving at 30 km/hr. If we had gone through the police search, they probably wouldn't have cared that she had extra ppl in the car, but they probably would have searched through all our Wendy's bags, thinking we had drugs in them, especially seeing as we were all laughing like maniacs.
Of course, when we got back to school, no one cared about our heinous ordeal, they just cared that the food was cold. And in the process of trying to heat her burger up, Sara almost set a microwave on fire because she forgot to take the tinfoil off. Ahh, stress. It makes you do crazy things. Although that's the kind of thing Sara would do anyway...
Anyway, Chara won, which satisfied everyone. And there was a mosh pit on the last song, which freaked out the teachers. So overall, it went quite well, I think.

confusion!

[mood: confused]
[music: Tomorrow - Avril LaVigne]

This song really fits my mood right now. I don't know whether they're just not good at translating into English, or if they're just cheesily fantastic, but their songs have sayings like "Move your ez (ass)!" or "Summer is coming! Can you taste the sun?" Anyway, listening to Scooter is always a good time.

I finished my Christmas shopping today...finally! I always seem to leave it to the last minute, but it's not really my fault seeing as how I don't have a car, so I couldn't get into town to shop earlier this week. But it's done, that's all that matters.

Not much happening here. I saw The Incredibles on Saturday. It was really funny, and I had so much fun hanging out with Rachel and Josh. I just wish I would have been able to hang out with everyone else too, but seeing as how they didn't want to go to the same movie as us, and they didn't hang out with us at the mall, what can ya do? See, me and Rachel met everyone at the mall at 3 o'clock, and almost everyone had been there since 10, but we had thought they were getting there around 1 o'clock. So they were all done of their shopping, but we still had to do some. Josh went with us to Winners, and everyone else went to the food court to hang out and talk. And then they left us, so we didn't know where they were, until we found them. From what I could tell, they got bored with waiting for us, so they left. Oh well!

Anyways, I better go. The crappy-ass music (rap, rap, rap, country, more rap, etc.)
3. The strange things people find to wear from Froggie's
2. Having more fun trying to copy the stupid choreography on the videos than actually using your own dance moves
1. The number of people who come drunk, then leave early because "there's too many sober people here"

But actually, the dance was pretty fun. It was semi-formal, and I really like dressing up for dances for some odd reason, and Kayla did my hair. I love it when she does my hair, because she can actually do something with it. I can't do anything with my hair myself. And it's really fun when you're "with someone" because you don't have to worry about the whole slow dance thing. I only had to worry about all my dear friends laughing at me while I was slow dancing (thanks Kayla). Josh is really cool, though, I'm glad I went with him.
Today, we went for brunch with Dana and her boyfriend. He seemed really nice, and Dana seems so happy. It was really cute. Dana's leaving Tuesday to go home for Christmas, so then we bought her some pottery for her present. And we all (except Dana, obviously) had turkducken, which is turkey stuffed with chicken stuffed with duck. Sounds weird, but it was actually really really good. And there was awesome looking carrot cake which i couldn't have in case it got cross-contaminated (grrrr).
Anyways, I still have to do one more rough copy for cahier de composition, so I better get to that. Later days.

Consarnit!

[mood: unhappy]
[music: Christmas songs]

I was in a really good mood all day until about twenty minutes ago, when Brooke called and said she wants the computer back. I know it's her computer, but I don't want to give it up. I was going to offer to buy it from her, but I don't know if she'd sell it, and I don't know if I can afford to buy a computer, even a used one.
We have our own computer, but it's old and really crappy. I can't even check my e-mail on it, because our computer needs updates before it can even access the website. This is going to suck. I have to wait until i'm alone, which will be awhile. Tonight, i had a driving lesson and it was horrible. I had to drive for two hours because Sara forgot her permit and i made so many mistakes. It was scary because I hadn't driven in town at night yet so this was my first time doing that. And I don't know why, but i just wasn't concentrating very well. I think i'm tired from the week because i didn't sleep good one or two nights this week and today we had the SADD conference, which was fun, but tiring. Anyway, Leanne asked me tonight if i have a fear of other cars hitting me and i realized that i really do. Like, i'm really scared that i'm going to get in a car accident, and it doesn't help when i'm driving with my mom and she flips out at half the things i do. I don't mean she yells at me, she just screams all of a sudden, "watch out for the pedestrian!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" when i saw the pedestrian perfectly clearly and was planning to stop, but that makes me jump out of my skin. I hate it so much when she does that. I like driving with Leanne so much better because she never freaks out and she's always calm. Of course, she has a brake on her side of the car...
Anyway, i'm also kind of pissed at my dad. I almost started crying when i got home from the combination of being tired and from my horrible driving lesson and also because i told mom a bit about what was bothering me with dad in the car on the way home, and just everything was kind of bubbling to the surface and i almost got overwhelmed with wanting to cry.
But anyway, when i got home, i wrote a letter to my dad which i'm not going to give to him; i just needed to write everything down and get it off my chest. I'm not going to copy out the letter here, seeing as it's two pages long, but it's basically about the fact that i feel like he doesn't respect my opinion on anything. I don't know if that's actually true, but that's how i feel and i think some of the ppl in the band would probably agree with me if i asked them. Writing a letter that you never plan to give the person is really good to help you feel better because you can say anything and you don't have to worry about hurting the person. So after writing that and watching The Gilmore Girls, i felt better. But i still had to rant about other stuff. Sorry about the long complainyness.

none

[mood: groggy]
[music: Only in Dreams- Weezer]
[quote of the day: "I was the world's leading surgeon and genetic engineer; I had secret contracts with the Pentagon, Apple, and Mattel." -Glenn Close in The Stepford Wives]

Tonight I am at home, working on our french project, and of course, slacking off by writing in my blog. I was so drained, from what I don't know, that I didn't want to do anything tonight except sleep. Beth and Sherry are at a dance at the Wave, but I didn't want to go to that anyway. Drunken 24-year-old university guys creep me out just a touch. Although there's nothing wrong with being drunk when you're 24, it's just that I'm not really in the mood I guess.
Anyway, so I'm trying to get the script done for our french project, when really I don't know if I'm supposed to be writing more, because I don't know how long it's gonna be when it's acted out. And I don't know what "sit up" is in french. And i have to get up at 7 o'clock tomorrow morning to go to Rachel's to work on said french project, so unless I go to bed like now, I'm gonna be drained again tomorrow. At least I'm going shopping tomorrow! Woot! Christmas is in 35 days, as katie informed me twice today. So I just have to figure out what to get everyone.

pyjama song

Here is a song I wrote the other night as I was studying:

Pyjamas are cool
They're great to wear to school
When studying for dumb exams
It's great to have those comfy pants
Pyjamas are so cool.

Pyjamas are cool
When you feel like a fool
Functions and maps can make you cry
Especially when you're sleep deprived
Pyjamas really rule.

Such talent I have. I have a third verse half-written, but I'm not going to include it since I can't think of any more adjectives for pyjamas that end in "ool."
I wrote my history exam yesterday, then this morning as i woke up, i was struck with the realization that I never wrote down the definition for Edict of Nantes. It's flipping cold out for the first of November, considering it was nice out yesterday. Except for the rain as we were walking through the streets. And the wind that practically blew katie over. And the GIANT puddle that I stepped in because it was dark out. It scared the shit out of me, man.
But other than scary puddles, halloween was awesome. Uncreative me, i went as a hippie. But at least i was warm in my hippie hat with my buttons on them. And i had the glowy glasses that added an element of weirdness to my costume. I should have done what dave did and bought a mask at shoppers and been an alien hippie. That would have been cool.
I love that i spontaneously burst into song when i'm with katie and amanda and katrina. We're just walking down the street and all of a sudden someone's like, "let's sing christmas carols!" So we did, of course. What we looked like could have been the start of a bad joke:
"So a punk, a hippie, a cheetah, Barbie, and a bubble bath walk down the street singing 'Deck the Halls', right...."
That makes me laugh just reading over it again.
I guess I should go study for exams now. Seven days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe it. They really sneak up on ya. But tomorrow I can wear my new shirt from value village, the best place on earth. Enough about that, though.
I went to the retreat this weekend and it was so much fun. It's amazing how you can feel close to people you've never even met before, just because you're sharing such a great experience with them, and you're having so much fun. My favorite part of the weekend was playing flag war on Saturday night for two hours in the dark. It amazingly took that long for the other team to find our flag. I also loved having the bonfire on Friday night. We sang such a variety of songs. We went from kids songs like Jesus Loves Me to country, like me and Katie were singing I love this bar as we headed in for the night. Great thing to sing at a retreat. And I never knew Spencer had such an amazing voice. He sang with us and I was like whoa!!!
I love my friends and I love my faith, and that was just the funnest weekend. Good times.

Take the quiz: <a href="<a">"Which'>http://www.zenhex.com/quiz.php?id=710">"Which Random Irish Gaelic Phrase Are You? Colds suck. They are seriously worse than almost any other sickness, even the flu, because with the flu, you're over it in like two days, where as with a cold, it takes me up to a week (sometimes more) to get over it. Grr. Stupid immune system.
Anyway, so there is a dance going on at school right now. And I was all ready to go to it, with my ticket bought and everything, until a few hours ago, when I was at my friend's house, and I realized that I'm sick, and if I went, I'd probably be sicker tomorrow. Actually, I might have been okay, but while I was at my friend's house, my allergies started acting up, and tightness in chest combined with stuffy, runny nose does not equal fun. Oh well. I'm going to a swimming party tomorrow and I really do not want to be sick for that, so missing out on a dance isn't a biggie. There will be others, I hope.
P.S. Sher, thanx for understanding. Because that's what I did at work last night. Granted, it was dirty water from a pot I'd been scrubbing, but Matt's guard was down for the first time all night! And believe me, he so deserved it. Earlier in the night, after throwing mussel shells at me, he told me he only picks on us girls who are dishwashing because he expects us to fight back. Well I fought back, baby! Mwahaha. But don't worry, everyone. He's not a server, he's a dishwasher as well. I would never pour water over a server; i'd probably get fired. But it was really funny how everyone he told, they just laughed. No one's on his side, poor baby.
Sad, that pouring water on someone is what I'm writing about. But I've really loved working at the restaurant. Most of the time, I've been working with people a year or two younger than me, so I've gotten in touch with my immature side (hence the water pouring) but I also got to know some of the servers, who are a few years older than me. Anyway, it's been fun. Aren't i smart......
But aren't there like millions of studies that say if you indulge in creative things like music or writing (tee hee) you do better on things like science and math both of which i have an exam on in the next week. Hopefully i'll do okay. And i know everyone tells me i'll do fine, but i have frozen before on tests and i don't want that to happen this week.
